CV

For the past decade, Ben has produced work for industry leaders such as Nike, Uber, Redbull, The University of Adelaide, Westfield and Penfolds.

Consistently resolving projects with a client focussed approach, his personable working style has led him to develop mutually rewarding partnerships that extend beyond traditional supplier relationships. He has worked in-house with leading creative agencies - in addition to executing briefs externally, on behalf of his own studio - Firsthand.

He holds a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design, enabling him to work collaboratively as Design Lead on a multitude of Graphic Design projects.

Ben lives in Plympton Park with his Primary School teacher fiancée Rhianna. They have recently  purchased their first home, and are enthusiastically renovating under  the supervision of their Cairn Terrier, Alfie.

“Ben consistently brings the goods. He’s attuned to what’s going on both inside and outside of the client’s world and always bridges the gap between a good idea and exceptional execution. Connecting marketing strategy and brand propositions with our client’s customer base is the hallmark of our success and Ben has been instrumental in achieving this outcome.  Ben is on the rise here in Australia. He is a phenomenal talent, a dedicated creative and an innovative mind…”

“Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented people and Ben is one of them.  He’s creative, strategic and a great photographer, videographer & designer.  What sets Ben apart though, is his friendly nature.  He’s always authentic, collaborative and so easy to work with.   He has a unique way of putting talent at ease that results in beautiful imagery and footage. He often does the job of a room full of agency people and in the most understated and humble way.”

Ben is creative, hardworking and reliable. He has taken the time to understand the brand of Westfield and continues to deliver the highest standard of content/assets for the centre. It is not a coincidence that some of our most successful projects are the ones in which Ben has worked on. We’re truly lucky to have Ben as a supplier.

The University of Adelaide

Currently entering my third year with the University of Adelaide, my role has seen me work closely with a multitude of stakeholders across the organisation. Delivering written content, digital support, photography and video content that aligns with the universities pillars of excellence and extends the niversities key brand messaging.

Maintaining a strategic yet nimble approach to creative content, I find myself most at home delivering upon the universities request to deliver best in class creative content, while ensuring the multitude of nuanced key stakeholders’ expectations are managed and as often as possible, surpassed.

Video case studies such as graduate Coco Wong’s pathway from Adelaide to Tesla in San Francisco, and Shaina Reeder, a graduate who is a lead engineer for Haighs chocolates. These projects allow me to conceptualise, create, and distribute creative collateral that I maintain ownership of throughout.

I am often required to produce short turn around, best in class video and photography deliverables such as portraits of Julia Gillard, our Vice Chancellor Peter Rathgen, and numerous portraits of high level staff. My ability to approach these projects with confidence and a positive outlook is evident through my ability to complete projects to the highest professional standard. My fellow staff know that I can deliver outstanding results every-time they call.

Fuller Brand + Communication

I was brought in-house to Fuller to take responsibility for their video and photographic offering. As agencies become increasingly integrated, I was charged with spearheading Fuller’s content offering when it came to photography and video.

Offering a streamlined video, photography and design experiences for clients, I helped to build Fuller’s offering to include best in class photography and video content for clients. Working with clients such as SA Water, Yalumba, UniSA and St. Peters Woodlands. Working ‘in-agency’ provided an invaluable insight into the ways in which agencies operate here in Adelaide. Working with the Fuller team to develop and execute campaing and brand collateral on budget, on time, and on brief.

We Make Things

While based in Cologne, I traveled on assignment throughout Europe and The United states developing brand collateral for our family of five brands.

Working with Nike and Redbull, I was responsible for athlete management while also producing photographic and video content. A typical week would begin with me getting 6 hungover BMX riders out of their hostel beds, making sure they ate breakfast, and then spending the next 10 days riding through the streets of Barcelona shooting the worlds best BMX riders and helping to build the brands they rode for.
